VERIFIER ORGANIZATION SELECTION

In our country, accreditation of verification organizations is given by TÜRKAK according to the ISO 14065 standard.

It is possible to access the list of validating organizations on the TÜRKAK website. However, all existing organizations are accredited within the scope of the Regulation on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Greenhouse Gases prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.

There is no verification organization with TÜRKAK accreditation for standards such as ISO 14064-1, ISO 14046, CDP, ISO 14067, PAS 2050.

Carbon Footprint can be defined as the measure of the total greenhouse gas emissions, expressed in tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e), resulting from the energy and fossil fuel consumption, transportation, supply chain, and production activities of individuals or organizations while providing their products or services.

It can be calculated specifically for a product or service, as well as for all activities of an organization or institution.

A carbon tax is a type of tax implemented by countries to economically penalize carbon dioxide emissions generated during production, consumption, or importation. The tax is determined proportionally to the carbon footprint, based on the total greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere during the production of the traded product (which can be a good or service). This system is designed to reflect the cost of environmental damage and encourage environmentally friendly production and consumption habits.

The carbon tax has emerged globally as part of efforts to combat climate change. It is applied as an additional tax on products and services to reduce carbon emissions caused by production and consumption activities.
